A Day to Remember 9/11/01 - Day 15

I almost didn't get my post in tonight!! Wouldn't want to let any of my fans down! Its been a pretty good Sunday! It's hard to believe 10 years ago I was sitting and watching the world change before my eyes. On this day 10 years ago it started with a strange email from my mom telling me they were fine and not try come home. I didn't know why at the time and went on to my coaching class. When I got there teacher came in and said in light of what has happened this morning I am going to cancel class, or something like that. I still didn't know what was going on. I rushed home to turn on the television find out. I couldn't believe what I was seeing and still can't today. My roommates Perkins and Annie and I were glued to the television all day. I had another class at 10 and it hadn't been cancelled yet so I thought "too early in the semester to be skipping" so off I went. That professor kept us the whole time and never mentioned the attacks at all - we found out on Thursday that he hadn't heard and was sorry he kept us. As soon as that class got out I again rushed home to my roomies! They were still watching the television as the world was still attempting to comprehend what had transpired and why and who.... Later that afternoon we headed to basketball practice and Sloop sent us all home. Looking back now I still have trouble grasping the magnitude of what we witnessed on television that day and how it has forever changed the world we live in.

So today when we turned the TV on and were flipping through the channels we began by watching the ceremony at ground zero. So hard to believe so many lives were lost that day. After they got through the C last names and went to commercial I began flipping the channels and that is when I came across msnbc and the were rebroadcasting Katie Couric, tom Brokaw, and Matt Lauer broadcasting the events on that day. It was surreal when it happened and it was eerie to see it again... My heart goes out to all the families who lost someone that day and I can't imagine the pain and emptiness those events left in their lives. Bless those that responded and helped rescue and save others lives sacrificing their own. And those who survived it all. Real American Heroes!

In the world of baby today no changes. There is something so comforting about hearing that little heartbeat everyday and starting the morning off with it! Still no contractions and the baby looks great on the monitor. Still moving around in there quite a bit, which is reassuring as well. Tomorrow we have an ultrasound so I will probably be uploading some new photos. Kind of hoping for some measurements - length and weight- but now sure if they will do them. I pray that my fluid level is still normal and in a safe range. I wish Kevin could be there with us and I know it kills him not to be. I hope he can come for a visit Wednesday night after school. We'll just see. He'll be back next weekend and then the weekend after that he has drill so I hope my mom can come then. Speaking of Kevin, he completed one of the greatest husband tasks today. I was running out of pads (for the leaking, since I have had a premature rupture of membranes they are needed) and he went to walmart and purchased new ones for me. I didn't get him texted in time with what I wanted, but what he got is doing the trick! I know you were all dying to hear about that, but I thought he needed his props for Husband of the Year!! One of my best friends may be coming in a week and staying for a few days for a visit. That would be awesome and very refreshing!!c=

It has been a good sports day for me, at least thus far. The Bears won, convincingly which surprised me. The downside, I had to watch the Rams game. Yuck! Next week though I think the Bears game will be on here. The Cubs are beating the Mets right now, hopefully they can hold on! Heard on ESPN that the Cardinals are closing in on the Braves for the NL wild card, hopefully when they meet the Cubs for the last series of the season we can spoil their playoff hopes, since we haven't had any since opening day. There is always next year!! Thank god for sports, I wish there were some daytime games on during the week. On another note, I finished the Prince of Tides so when mom comes we can now watch the movie, if anyone has it let me know!! I began reading the one the Poker Club sent At the Corner of Bitter and Sweet I think is what it is called. I just started reading it, didn't read the flap for a preview or anything. So far it is an easy read and I may finish it in record time!

So what I thought was going to be a short and sweet entry has really taken off!! I'm pooped, no nap yesterday or today so I'm gonna turn the lights out on this entry! Look forward to sharing good news and pictures tomorrow!!

Stay Tuned...
